Happy Monday!

This week we celebrate Valentine's Day on Wednesday, 2/14. According to Hallmark, more than 163 million cards—not including packaged kids’ valentines—are exchanged. And it’s not just an American phenomenon. Valentine’s Day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Italy and Denmark.

If you don't have plans, here are the top 7 Valentine's Day Getaways in Maine:

1. Bethel
2. Rockport
3. Sugarloaf Mountain
4. Ogunquit
5. Rangley
6. Freeport
7. Portland

Will you be in Portland and looking for some restaurant specials, here are some suggestions:

VALENTINE’S DAY DINING: LOVE ON THE MENU AT THESE MAINE RESTAURANTS

Five-Fifty Five, Grace, Hugos, Petite Jacqueline, & the Salt Exchange have specials just to name a few!

Don't feel like spending money? Take a stroll through the Old Port and be on the look out for the paper hearts that cover the city windows and landmarks. This is a tradition that began in 1976 in Portland, the Valentine’s Day Phantom has become a heartwarming sight, and has since spread to Vermont  cities , and Colorado as well. No one knows the identity of the Valentine’s Phantom, making the paper hearts even more mysterious, but we sure do love the festive spirit!

Make it a great week!
